Dear parents and carers,
We hope that everyone had a good half term. It was lovely to see everyone return on Monday. Our parent group met on Monday and about a dozen parents took part in a travel training workshop onsite on Wednesday. As part of the workshop we welcomed back former pupil Alfie to talk about his experiences as an independent traveller. Current pupils Hope and Chris also spoke about their travel training. It was a really useful morning. Thanks go to Suzannah Beasley from the Local Authority for facilitating.
Please be aware that Nicky Rolfe our Advice worker will be absent from work until at least 26th March. If you need support urgently please let Nick Clark, Admin & Facilities Manager know and we’ll do our best to support you.
You should have received a letter from me yesterday regarding the planned industrial action by members of the NEU. We are able to open to all pupils as usual on Thursday 2nd March. This is World Book Day and we’re looking forward to a day to celebrate reading. We have a number of events taking place on the day. Please do encourage your son/ daughter to dress up as their favourite book character!
There are further industrial action days planned over the next few weeks. I will write to you in good time as to our plans.
Have a good weekend
Eileen
