The Highshore Parent’s Group is a dedicated group of current and ex-parents and carers who meet monthly to discuss ways to support the school, pupils and staff with various events and activities

For over 10 years the Highshore Parent Group  has supported the parents and pupils at Highshore School.

This group has worked in partnership with the Headteacher, SLT and Admin Staff and has been a valuable voluntary resource.

The membership consists of parents of existing and ex-pupils.

The Group meets twice termly in school or online. It also organises activities such as International Evenings, School Proms and Sixth Form and Ex Student’s Reunion Discos as well as supporting fundraising and enterprise events.

For Existing Parents and Carers

In response to feedback about ways for current Highshore parents/carers to connect, a WhatsApp group has been created. This is an informal chat for parents/carers of all Highshore students to share information about school or SEND.

This will not be seen by school and is being moderated by parents after discussion with Evelina and the team. 

This group can be used to post information such as;

· information and reminders about Highshore coffee mornings and events at school

· links to SEN holiday clubs or accessible events in London

· offers of equipment or uniform

· links to events in the community which might interest others. 

· opportunities for volunteering or work experience

· links to resources and training.

You can also make links with others in your year group, and we hope separate informal chats for each year group will be created.

This group is not for;

· Posts on opinions, politics, religion etc. This is not a place for discussion, debate or complaints. 

It is important that this group remains a manageable and positive experience for parents, so please read before joining;

· Please keep posts brief, relevant and neutral.

· Please use the reply privately function for direct messages. Please use the emoji responses to react to messages - ie to agree/offer thanks to avoid clogging up the chat. 

· Please be courteous and respectful of the differences within the group. 

Please note that admins reserve the right to remove people from the group if these rules are not followed.
