First aid fun!
BackWhat a great week we’ve had at Highshore! This week has been First Aid week, and we have been having lots of fun and learning too! Our Key Stage assemblies introduced the topic, and the students enthusiastically shared their ideas! This morning in carousel time, the students have been learning lots of practical First Aid skills in their classrooms. We were practicing how to get help if someone is injured, how to call for an ambulance, and looking for hazards. Our Key Stage 4 classes also focused on learning about First Aid kits and how to use plasters and bandages. While in the Sixth Form, some of the classes practiced chest compressions using our CPR practice dummies! There are some great videos on the BBC Teach and St John's Ambulance websites if you want to follow up. I have seen some amazing pictures so far, and the students really seemed to enjoy learning about these very important and practical LifeSkills!
