There's been lots of maths happening this week around school leading up to Sports Day. Students have been using a range of scoring systems, investigating ways to measure distance, and thinking about matching colours and shapes. We’ll have loads of photos of Sports Day for you in next week’s newsletter, as well as a round up from our brilliant Sports Coaches, Rob and Jo.

Students have been hard at work improving their mathematical fluency on Numbots and Times Table Rock Stars at school and at home. A big shout out to Kwabena, Lamin, and Nehemiah, who are topping the Studio Speed leaderboard on TTRS. Also, a special mention to 10O and 11H, who are leading the Numbots Class Effort Board!

Across maths sessions this week, the students have been using the Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract approach to support their understanding. Staff are looking forward to further CPA training from the White Rose Maths team in September. There will be a parents' workshop to follow to communicate how we are learning maths in school and what strategies parents can use to support pupils at home.

We were delighted to welcome our new year 7s on site this week. We hope they had a fantastic time, and we can’t wait to get to know them more.

As always, our doors are always open, and we welcome any feedback, questions, or concerns you may have. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us on 0207 708 6790 or the Family Support mobile number (07511849450). Alternatively, you can email familysupport@highshore.southwark.sch.uk.

Have a lovely weekend,
