  • Queen's Birthday Celebrations
The parent’s group helped organise a garden party to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday. We had a variety of cupcakes, sandwiches, cream scones. Most handmade or decorated by parents and Harrison catering. It was a very colourful event with glorious sunshine to round it all off.
  • Resource Making Group
The Resource Making Group meet once a month and work to help make resources for the school. Providing valuable support for school as well as being very good way for parents to meet and socialise
  • Leaver's Prom 2016
Our first Leavers Prom in July 2016 was a stylish and exciting event. Parent’s Satff and Pupils helped to make the evening a great success with food, music, photographs. the pupils looked amazing in their outfits and rosettes for the boys, sashes for the girls
  • International Evening 2016
Our first International Evening on March 1st 2016 was a huge success. We had a variety of delicious food, supplied by parents, from around the world. Pupils entertained us with singing, drumming and dance performances in national costume.
  • Enterprise Stalls
The parent’s group are often asked to assist the school with their enterprise stalls, selling Handmade@Highshore arts and crafts at various local stalls and visiting different businesses across London that support the school. The pupils show great enthusiasm and assertiveness while selling their goods to the public. The stalls are a way to help pupils develop essential communication and social skills. The stalls are a fun way for parents to engage with the school and be proactive in raising funds.

Parent Group Notices

Dear Parents
I wish you seasons greetings for the New Year and to inform you that the Parents Group are back in action after a well earned festive break following a busy first term supporting school visits, market stalls, parent evenings, resource making meetings, successful school reunion disco and school Christmas plays.

We did have a meal at the end of term arranged by the staff and pupils which was very lovely too.
We had our first Parents Group Meeting of the new term on 16 January 2017 which was very positive. This was followed by our recent Parents Resource Meeting on 30 January which was also very productive and enjoyable.
Both events have been well attended and a copy of the minutes including the actions and decisions discussed and agreed will be placed on the school website shortly.
In a response to promoting reading/ literacy in school the Parent Group is supporting a new Parent Volunteers Reading Programme starting this term (opportunities for new volunteers may follow in the future).
In addition, we are also planning our next Parents Group International Evening Event on 10 March 2017.
This is your opportunity to support the school in a social environment whilst enjoying good music, food and drink as well as celebrating the rich diversity of the school (wearing National Costumes where possible) and raising much needed funds with our raffle.
This was a very successful event last year and we expect it to be again with a high attendance.

Further information will be sent with letters in bags and a request for food/drink contributions.
A reminder will also be given through your class / year group representative.
I would be grateful if you could confirm your attendance and any offers of help to the Parents Group (myself) or Eileen (office) on receipt.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this whole school event.
Thanks very much
Don

Highshore Parents Group Christmas Lunch Feedback

The Parents Group had its first Christmas lunch on Monday 12 December 2016.

It was offered by Eileen as a very kind gesture in recognition of the Parents Group

hard work and contribution to the school and was very much appreciated.

It was held in the staff meeting room which was decorated by pupils and members of staff.

The buffet food, drinks and table decorations were superb and surpassed all expectations

Thanks to Julia and pupils!

This together with some very enjoyable festive music in the background too! Thanks to Barry.

It reminded the Group of the talent that there is at Highshore and why the Parent Group feels so committed in supporting the school, pupils and staff as much as possible.

There was a lot of laughter as well as some reflection on the achievements of the Group during the autumn term and looking forward to the spring term after a well earned break too.

Although the Parent Group work to the same principles and vision of the school, it regarded the receipt of such a lovely gesture in recognition of its efforts as a humbling experience and registered its immense gratitude to all the staff and pupils at Highshore and wished them the very best for the festive break and New year.
