Mix the City

The British Council and Belfast City Council have come together to create Mix the City – an online interactive mixing website where music lovers and budding DJs around the globe will get to sample distinct sights and sounds and create their own compositions.

Jam Studio is perfect for songwriters, musicians, producers or any music enthusiast. Producers can enter chords, loops, sound effects, sound clips, tracks, music, beats, patterns, riffs, pads, samples, remix and sequences.

Anansi the Spider Re-Spun

The Unicorn Theatre, the UK’s leading theatre for young audiences, is streaming three episodes of their new, entirely digitally created theatre experience, Anansi the Spider Re-spun for ages 3 – 8, releasing one episode a week from Saturday 30 May, and with each episode available for the following three weeks. Isle of Tune

This is a game where you begin with a blank landscape, you first draw on roads, then add trees, houses, plants, bushes and lamp posts. When you have created your ‘town’, you add a car that drives around the streets, triggering off different sounds as it passes different objects. You can add up to three cars at different times to create multi sounds simultaneously. It’s best to experiment and have fun with the visuals and this will result in interesting music.

Music Maker

This is an activity that shows you how recorded music is made and how it is made up of layers. Follow the on screen instructions step by step to create layers of sound.
